At the center of Empowered Voices is opportunities to allow participants to thrive. In addition to vocational and small business support, our efforts are continuously invested in our members' personal growth and development. Led by Julie Matovu, our empowerment projects encompass workshops, field visits and external opportunities for each of our members to feel equipped to overcome gender inequality and lead in both personal and communal settings.
Workshops and leadership trainings are held roughly once a month. Empowered Voices has also hosted seminars and retreats for more intensive trainings, with past guest speakers including:
- Josephine Nakanwagi on the qualities of a leader and the development of leadership traits
- Joy Mirembe Abola (Akamai Global) on financial literacy and personal development
- Angella Namenta on gender issues and gender equality
- Birgitte Bech (Children in Africa) on overcoming gendered divides
